What if you could take a pen and draw out every piece of furniture you wanted in an empty room? It'd be unreal, a super space age technique. But, it is somewhat of a reality these days. A design group in Sweden, Front Design, can turn simple sketches made in the air into stools, tables, chairs, etc.
According to the Front Design website, "pen strokes made in the air are recorded with Motion Capture and become 3D digital files; these are then materialised through Rapid Prototyping into real pieces of furniture."

It is a bizarre and interesting concept. I'm not sure how sturdy the furniture is (it looks like foam) but it could definitely be quite the conversation piece!
