Jennifer Maestre is a sculptor, but she does not use typical materials (clay, wood, etc.) to achieve her end goal of a masterpiece. Instead, Maestre chops hundreds of colored pencils into small pieces. After the pieces of the pencils are in about 1-inch sections, she drills holes, sharpens and then sews them all together. Maestre does not only use colored pencils in her sculpting endeavors. A portfolio displaying Maestre's sculptures made of nails can be seen at her official website.
