Buildings go through a lot; tenants, weather, sometimes wars, you name it. The cracks and holes in buildings that come from wear and tear can easily be fixed with bricks and mortar. However, a German artist, Jan Vormann has come up with another way to repair the exterior of urban structures.
Vormann has an installation that spans the globe and relies on volunteers and LEGOS to fill the gaps in buildings and monuments. The project is called "Dispatchwork" and can now be seen taking form on city streets in Germany, Israel, Russia, America, Switzerland, Italy, Netherlands, Serbia, Ecuador, Tunisia and Spain. Not only do the LEGOS fill the holes, they definitely call attention to builidings that could use some help, too.
